Any Wonder Why Islam Forbids Alcohol?

1210980903ZnzcNBAlcohol is detrimental to your health especially your liver.Alcohol befogs the mind and prevents rational thinking. Alcohol causes road accidents and innocent lives are lost. Alcohol increases the occurrence of domestic violence. Alcohol addiction causes financial ruin.

If alcoholism is a disease then IT IS THE ONLY DISEASE THAT:

~Is sold in bottles

~Is advertised in newspappers, magazines, radio and television

~Is contracted by the will of man

~Has licensed outlets to spread it

~Producers revenue for the state

~Brings violent deaths on the highways

~Has no germs or viral cause

~Propels one’s health to self destruction

~Destroys family life and increases crime

IT IS NOT A DISEASE -

  IT IS SATAN’S HANDI WORK!!

                DONT DRINK!!

Appreciating Islam

islam-starIslam is one of the most misunderstood religions of the world. much of what the general public know about islam is based on media reports on television, radio and in the paper. These reports are often misleading and promote negative stereotypes and misconceptions usually associated with political issues rather than Islam’s true teachings. The faith of Islam shares a very close history with Christianity and Judaism. Islam promotes the same values of modern society-equality, freedom, justice, civil rights, peace and harmony.

Within a sort periiod of it’s history, Islam spread rapidly to almost a third of the world in the 8th centuary establishing a modern and culturally advanced civilisation. The early Muslims established the foundations of the modern arts, sciences and technological knowledge.

Historians acknowledge the contributions of early muslims to the establishment of modern society. However, the Islamic civilisation saw a period of decline from the beginning of the the 19th centuary.

The Gift of our Mothers

Muslim Children making dua

Muslim Children making dua

My mother is a very special person.
Our mothers deserve a lot of respect, love and care from us.

We should always try to be good to them, listen to them when they advise us and when they ask us to do things.

Allah tells us in many places in the Qur’an how we should treat our parents, especially our mothers.
Mothers have a lot of respect in islam as they do a lot for us even before we are born.
However that doesn’t mean we can treat our fathers with less respect.

Both are equal and both deserve love, respect and care from us.

There was once a Companion who asked the Prophet Muhammad saw about who deserves to be his best companion, and the Prophet saw replied,
“YOUR MOTHER.”
The man then asked,”who is next after my mother?”
The Prophet saw gave the same advice,”YOUR MOTHER.”
so the man asked the third time, and again the Prophet saw gave the same answer,
“YOUR MOTHER.”
So then the man asked for the 4th time,
“Then Who?”
and this time the Prophet saw replied,
“YOUR FATHER.”

WE can see that the Prophet saw has told us clearly that our mothers come before anything, expect Allah.
Our mothers come before our fathers but remember:
BOTH DESERVE
the best from us.

Let’s look at why Islam teaches us to be good to our parents especially our mothers.

Well,  we must remember that our mothers play a big part in bringing us into this world.  They feed us when we are babies, change our nappies, look after us and go out their way to make sure we are comfortable and happy!

Our mothers take care of us when we are ill, sit by our bed and comfort us when we have a bad dream. They teach us many beautiful things like surahs from the Qu’ran, Ahadith, good manners and all the things we need to know to grow up and become good muslims.

So what can we do in return for our mothers who have worked so hard? Well, firstly we should always make Du’a to Allah  for them, that Allah protects them, looks after them and  blesses them with paradise.

A good muslim treats both of his/hers parents with respect. We should speak to them politely and gently with respect and love. We should greet them with salam and with a smile, as they are a gift to us from Allah.

Dua for your parents:

Rabbir-hamhuma kama Rabbayani saghiran

My Lord! Bestow on them your mercy as they did bring me up when i was young.

Ramadhan

RamadanRamadan is a very impotant month for Muslims.

It is a month that gives muslims the chance to gain lots and lots of  rewards from Allah.

It is an opportuniy to become better and stronger  Muslims and to get closer to Allah.

Ramadan is one of the five pillars of islam and comes once a year. It lasts for 29- 30 days depending on the sighting of the moon.

In this great month, Muslims fast everyday from dawn to sunset.

Between these two times, we do not eat or drink.

Our last meal is just before dawn, and we start eating at sunset this is when our fast ends.

When we fast, we not only stop eating and drinking, but we also remember to correct our tongues and behaviour. this is one of the reasons of fasting.

Whilst fasting, we must remember Allah more and stay away from doing anything bad or harmful to others.
